Barbara Gosselar has practiced law since 1979, primarily representing municipalities and park districts, and other governmental agencies and private employers. In this capacity, she has argued cases before administrative bodies and trial and appellate courts, including the Illinois Human Rights Commission and Illinois Supreme Court. She advises local governments and private employers, prepares and reviews professional services, purchasing and intergovernmental agreements and other documents; prepares legislation and advises governing bodies and lobbyists concerning pending or approved legislation.
She has represented governmental and private employers before the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commissions (EEOC) and is an expert in employment law. She has also represented individuals and developers in their dealings with municipalities concerning zoning matters. As a former teacher, she is skilled in offering training and has conducted sexual harassment and other employment-related training.
Barb has also been a speaker on topics related to zoning and employment issues before the Illinois Municipal league Conference, the Northwest Municipal Conference, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Metro Managers, and has written for the DuPage Bar News.
